CNAEND stands for National Aerospace Non Destructive Testing Committee. I is part of AEND and it acts as reference body for the national Aerospace industry and, as such, it may handle any matter related to NDT in accordance to standard EN 4179.

CNAEND was created based on an initiative of the Direccion General de Aviacion Civil (Spanish Directorate General of Civil Aviation). This, in turn, was promoted by the large majority of the Spanish Aerospace companies in order to comply with the applicable regulation: COMMISSION REGULATION (EC) No 2042/2003 of 20 November 2003 on the continuing airworthiness of aircraft and aeronautical products, parts and appliances, and on the approval of organisations and personnel involved in these tasks. This document states the requirement to comply with standard EN4179.
